Dear Cross Country Parents,

 

Parent involvement is a hallmark of the Marquette cross country program and has been a significant factor in our success for 30 years.  Since there is in excess of 150 boys participating in cross country this year we want to give every parent the opportunity to be involved.  You can do so by volunteering to work one or more of the three meets Marquette High will be hosting this season.

 

On Saturday, September 10th Marquette High has been asked to provide course marshals and chute personnel for the 4th Annual Metro Reunion meet at Washington Park.  We are asking for 5 volunteers to set-up the finish chute beginning at 7:30 am and for many additional course marshals.  Course marshals and any additional volunteers will meet at the Urban Ecology Center Pavilion (approximately 40th and Roberts St.) in Washington Park at 8:30 a.m. where duties will be assigned.

 

On Friday, September 16th we will be hosting the 20th annual Marquette Invitational cross country meet at Washington Park.  We are seeking parents to volunteer to sell t-shirts, assist with awards, and act as course marshals for the day's races.  Volunteers will meet at the Urban Ecology Center Pavilion (approximately 40th and Roberts St.) in Washington Park at 2:30 p.m. where duties will be assigned. The pavilion is located north of the lagoons near the baseball diamonds.

 

The third meet is the WIAA Sectional Meet on Saturday, October 22.  We will need both varsity and JV parents to assist as volunteers in the same capacities as the Metro Reunion and Marquette Invitational.
